# Physical Changes in the First Trimester

<figure><img src="/files/mmcQnAU0cFi1lKP0hGSy" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The most beautiful phase of a woman’s life is pregnancy. Pregnancy is classified into three trimesters: first, second, and third. The first trimester, which is the starting phase of pregnancy, is quite difficult as it encounters several changes in the body. Managing this transformative time easily can help your body prepare better for future swaps.

## Early Signs of Pregnancy

Though the body starts indicating changes at the time of pregnancy, the most prominent are missed periods. Some of the other signs that indicate early pregnancy are:

* The uterine lining may experience mild cramping and light spotting when the fertilised egg attaches to the same.
* Taking a home pregnancy test is another method that helps detect pregnancy, especially when performed a few days after the expected period.

### Symptoms in the First Trimester of Pregnancy

Women in the first trimester of pregnancy undergo several physical as well as emotional changes. Some of the common noticeable changes are:

* Pregnancy Fatigue

The most common physical change that women notice is fatigue. It is mainly due to the body's new changes in terms of increased demand and nutrition. It is recommended to sleep early and take short naps during the day time.

* **Morning Sickness**

Many pregnant women suffer from nausea and vomiting, particularly in the morning, referred to as morning sickness. However, the symptoms may appear at any time of the day. To prevent this, you can take frequent and small portions of meals, avoid food with a strong smell and take ginger supplements or vitamin B16 for relief.

* **Frequent Urination**

Enlargement in the size of the uterus is a prominent physical change in pregnancy. This starts building pressure on the urinary bladder, increasing the urge to urinate frequently. Many pregnant women may also experience slight urine leakage, even during coughing or sneezing, causing discomfort.

* **Lightheadedness**

Lightheadedness or dizziness is mainly caused since the extra blood produced by the body to support the growing fetus. Besides, some of the other factors resulting from hunger, weakness, or stress can also cause headaches in women.

* **Changes in Skin**

The change in skin is due to enhanced blood circulation in the body. A few others also experience potential acne because of increased oil production and hormonal imbalance.
